It seems like Atlanta's 36-year-old left fielder has been injured more than not this season. However, he has not been terribly missed. Matt Diaz has been a more-than-suitable substitute with the bat and the glove.

But the same cannot be said about the loss of McCann.

The catcher has become an integral part of the Braves' lineup -- someone who was supposed to be relied upon to give Chipper Jones a bit of protection.

Unfortunately, the team may be without him for a while.

More likely than not, McCann will have to have Lasik surgery to reset the vision back to 20-20 in the eye and will be out for a while.

BRAVES 4, REDS 3: Jeff Francoeur smashed a solo homer and Matt Diaz drove in a run with a base hit in Atlanta's wild win at Great American Ballpark on Friday.

Javier Vazquez allowed two runs and seven hits and struck out nine in six innings for the win and Mike Gonzalez retired the side in order in the ninth to notch his second save.

Atlanta scored two runs via a bases-loaded walk against a wild Edison Volquez, who caused the benches to empty after hitting Yunel Escobar in the third inning. No punches were thrown.
