Cox was referring to Garret Anderson and Brian McCann, and a day later, Anderson finally paid some dividends.

Anderson came off the 15-day disabled list Tuesday but went 0-for-4 batting cleanup. The next day in Florida, Anderson drove in his first three runs as a Brave, giving Derek Lowe an early lead. The Braves went on to an 8-6 win.

Anderson batted third Thursday afternoon, with Chipper Jones given the day off. He couldn't repeat Wednesday's performance, going 0-for-3 with a walk, but the Braves won, anyway.

McCann was forced to the 15-day disabled list because his eyesight was changing, and finding the right corrective lenses turned out to be an exhaustive process. He is eligible to be activated Friday and he will be, joining the team in Philadelphia for the start of a three-game series.

Cox doesn't normally change his lineup every game, but he has switched things frequently this season. The injuries are causing that; Cox had been counting heavily on Anderson's bat, but the outfielder has been slowed by a quadriceps strain.

One batter who is starting to warm up is Casey Kotchman. Back in Thursday's lineup because the opposing starter was right-handed, Kotchman drove in two of the Braves' four runs.

BRAVES 4, MARLINS 2: RHP Jair Jurrjens established his fastball inside early and finally got some run support. He allowed two runs in seven innings, leaving his ERA at 2.01. C David Ross and 1B Casey Kotchman each drove in two runs.
