--3B Chipper Jones will have an MRI on Tuesday to see whether there is structural damage in his right shoulder or if the problem is merely tendinitis, as he has been told by the Braves' medical staff. He hasn't started any of the past five games.
--LHP Jeff Ridgway underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow to remove a bone spur. The procedure was performed Sept. 20 by team orthopedist Xavier Duralde. --SS Yunel Escobar's sore right hamstring probably will limit him to pinch-hitting appearances for the rest of the season.
--LHP Will Ohman has made 83 appearances, one away from the franchise record set by Chris Reitsma in 2004.
--OF Matt Diaz has finally been activated, four months after ripping up his left posterior cruciate ligament sliding into an unpadded section of the outfield wall in Milwaukee on May 27. He is hoping to play during the Braves' final series in Houston.
