--OF Garret Anderson was back in the lineup, and manager Bobby Cox hopes that the right calf strain is behind him for the season. The injury limited Anderson to only seven games in spring training and to only 10 at-bats in four games so far this season. Anderson made two errors, both for failing to corral flyballs in foul territory.
--C David Ross may or may not be assigned to a particular pitcher once he is activated from the disabled list Thursday. Manager Bobby Cox typically does that with the team's backup catcher, but Cox says he hasn't decided yet whether he will do so with Ross, who has been out with a right groin strain. BY THE NUMBERS: 9.45 -- The bullpen's ERA in its first 13 1/3 innings. That was before the relievers tossed a combined 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball April 11-12, lowering the unit's ERA to 6.75.
