--3B Chipper Jones took treatment on his right quad -- he has a small tear and some bleeding -- but won't know how it really feels until he tries to run on it. And he won't attempt anything close to that until he gets to Wrigley Field on Tuesday.
--CF Mark Kotsay is eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, but he will not; an MRI revealed a bulging disk in his back that is pressing on the sciatic nerve, which is causing pain in his leg. This is not in the same area as the back surgery he had in March 2007. He has decided to go on the road trip that starts Tuesday in Chicago. --RHP Chris Resop has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Class AAA Richmond. He was designated for assignment May 26.
--INF/OF Greg Norton had an MRI on his sore left knee; it showed no major damage. Norton doesn't know how or when he twisted the knee. He pinch-hit or played in the field late in all three games of the series with the Phillies.
--LHP Mike Gonzalez pitched one inning Sunday for Class AAA Richmond in a rehab assignment, allowing a double and a run-scoring single before retiring the requisite three batters on a pair of strikeouts and a fly out. He's hoping he'll need only one other rehab start at the most.
