--3B Chipper Jones, still walking gingerly on his strained left hamstring, says he is still a couple of days away "at the very least" from any baseball-related activity.

--C Brian McCann had to come out of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning after a helmet-to-helmet collision at the plate with the Phillies' Shane Victorino. McCann was down for a few minutes but left the field under his own power. He is expected to miss several days with a mild concussion.

--1B Mark Teixeira was taken out of the game on a double-switch when the game appeared out of hand, a decision manager Bobby Cox may have regretted as the Braves rallied only to fall short.

--LHP Tom Glavine plans to pitch a simulated game Wednesday, assuming he rebounds from Sunday's light bullpen session in Philadelphia.

--RHP Charlie Morton was optioned to Class AAA Richmond to make room on the roster for LHP Mike Hampton. It was his misfortune to have been the rookie starter who had pitched most recently.

BY THE NUMBERS: .172 -- The Braves' team batting average in their losses, through 100 games.

QUOTE TO NOTE "It's kind of surreal." -- Charlie Morton on being able to get pitching advice from Tom Glavine, John Smoltz and Tim Hudson.
