--3B Chipper Jones has been placed on the 15-day disabled list for the first time this season with a strained left hamstring, which has not responded to treatment. The move is retroactive to July 24.
--RHP Tim Hudson's right elbow is still sore enough that manager Bobby Cox did not want to take any chances with it, so Hudson has been placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to July 24. An MRI taken Monday afternoon shows some damage to the ulnar collateral ligament, and the Braves will be making an appointment for Hudson to see Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham. --RHP Jorge Campillo, whose start Saturday was lost after an inning and a half because of a nearly two-hour rain delay in Philadelphia, will start Tuesday against the Cardinals in place of RHP Tim Hudson, who has been placed on the disabled list.
--C Clint Sammons has been recalled from Class AAA Richmond in the wake of C Brian McCann's helmet-to-helmet collision at home plate with the Phillies' Shane Victorino Sunday. McCann has a mild concussion.
--RHP Charlie Morton was recalled from Class AAA Richmond to start Monday after scheduled starter Jo-Jo Reyes had to be used Sunday. Reyes was optioned to Richmond. Morton gave up eight runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings against the Cardinals.
