--RHP Jorge Campillo has begun throwing side sessions and says he feels good, but manager Bobby Cox is not going to rush him back to the bullpen. Cox has the whole season to think about.
--RF Jeff Francoeur saw only 13 pitches in eight at-bats Friday and Saturday against the Phillies, an unwelcome return to last season's plate approach. Obviously, this is something he's going to have to be conscious about because being more patient is not second nature to him yet. --RHP Kenshin Kawakami may be struggling on the mound, but he contributed with a single in his first at-bat against Phillies RHP Brett Myers. He retired the side in order in the first and third innings and got out of trouble in the second, an improvement on his ability to do that in previous starts.
MEDICAL WATCH:
3B Chipper Jones (sore right elbow) left the May 10 game but is not expected to miss any time.
RHP Jorge Campillo (right shoulder tendinitis) went on the 15-day disabled list April 17. He said he was merely suffering from a dead arm.
LHP Tom Glavine (shoulder and elbow surgeries) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 1. He had to cut short an April 12 rehab start with Class AA Mississippi with shoulder discomfort, and he was shut down from throwing for two weeks. He threw a bullpen session on May 4.
RHP Tim Hudson (Tommy John surgery on right elbow in August 2008) went on the 60-day disabled list March 4. He is targeting an August return date, barring setbacks.
