--3B Chipper Jones played catch in the outfield before batting practice Tuesday and pronounced himself ready to go. Several terrific throws from third showed that his hyperextended right elbow was indeed OK. He went 2-for-4.
--LHP Tom Glavine is planning to throw two or three simulated innings Wednesday, and depending on how he feels after that, he could be off on a one- or two-game minor league rehab assignment. That would put him on pace to come off the disabled list the week of May 25. --RHP Javier Vazquez ranks third in the National League with 57 strikeouts but has only a 3-3 record to show for it, thanks to the Braves' inability to score runs. His luck may change now that LF Garret Anderson and C Brian McCann are back in the lineup.
MEDICAL WATCH:
3B Chipper Jones (sore right elbow) left the May 10 game and did not play May 11. He returned to the lineup May 12.
RHP Jorge Campillo (right shoulder tendinitis) went on the 15-day disabled list April 17. He said he was merely suffering from a dead arm.
LHP Tom Glavine (shoulder and elbow surgeries) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 1. He had to cut short an April 12 rehab start with Class AA Mississippi with shoulder discomfort, and he was shut down from throwing for two weeks. He threw a bullpen session May 4. He will throw a simulated game May 13, which could be a precursor to a rehab assignment.
RHP Tim Hudson (Tommy John surgery on right elbow in August 2008) went on the 60-day disabled list March 4. He is targeting an August return date, barring setbacks.
