Apr. 28, 2009 (Baseball Musings delivered by Newstex ) -- Kyle McClellan came in to pitch for the Cardinals in the bottom of the eighth inning against the Braves . He followed a pattern, walking a batter, then getting an out (even walking Jeff Francoeur), for the first five batters. That left him with the bases loaded and two out. Matt Diaz, however, would break the pattern, collecting a two-run single and Atlanta went on to a 2-1 victory. Chipper Jones walked four times in the game and Jo-Jo Reyes pitched seven strong innings for a no-decision, striking out seven and walking one. The Braves couldnt buy a one-run win early last year, but theyre 4-4 in that category with the win tonight.
