Q: Hey, Hoynsie: I know you are going to tell me it's too early to panic about the Indians starters. However, you have to admit they present more question marks than answers. On the other hand, the Braves have some excellent starters but a lousy bullpen. Our pen looks good. How about trading Rafael Betancourt for Jorge Campillo, who pitched well last year for the Braves and won eight games? - Joe Eversole, Pelham, Ala. A: Hey, Joe: I share your concern about the Indians starters. As for the bullpen, outside of Kerry Wood, I'm even more concerned. Betancourt hasn't been an artistic success so far this year, but he's been durable and he gets people out - it just takes a while. I say keep Betancourt while looking ahead for possible trades that could help later in the season.
Q: Hey, Hoynsie: What is the Indians' all-time won-loss record against the Texas Rangers? I've been an Indians fan since the early 1940s and it seems like they don't fare well against the Rangers. - Bruce Haines, Deer Park, Texas
A: Hey, Bruce: After watching the Indians lose three straight to the Rangers to open the season, it's easy to see why you'd feel that way. Texas leads the Indians , 216-185, in their all-time series.
