MIAMI (AP) - Right-hander Rafael Soriano was activated Monday by the Atlanta Braves, who designated right-hander Vladimir Nunez for assignment.

Soriano had been sidelined with right elbow inflammation since June 6. He's 0-0 with a 2.00 ERA in nine innings this season, and was with the Braves for Monday's game at Florida.
If Nunez clears waivers, the Braves will likely assign him to their Triple-A team in Richmond, Va., a team spokesman said.
